Good to know

Apps vary in what they allow. If one character is rejected, try another. Hangul Filler and Braille Blank tend to pass the most filters.

Please do not use them to impersonate someone or dodge moderation.

The six characters

CharacterBehaviour
U+3164 Hangul FillerBlank with width, often accepted in names
U+2800 Braille BlankAn empty Braille cell, with width
U+200B Zero Width SpaceNo width, marks a place where text can wrap
U+2060 Word JoinerNo width, prevents a line break
U+00A0 No-Break SpaceA normal-looking space that does not wrap
U+2003 Em SpaceA wide space, useful for simple alignment

Using the test box

Paste a character into the test box and watch the counter. If it goes up, the character was copied even though you cannot see anything. An app may still reject it, as many services filter these characters from usernames and messages. If one fails, try another from the list.

When invisible characters cause trouble

Zero-width characters picked up by copying can break passwords, code and search. If something that looks correct fails, retype it by hand. Please do not use these characters to get around moderation or to pretend to be someone else, which breaks the rules of most platforms.

What is a zero-width space?
