FreeWrench is a set of small utilities for jobs that come up all the time: a photo in a format nothing will open, a PDF that needs one more page, a keyboard key that might be dying.

The tools run in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. When you convert a photo here, the conversion happens on your computer or phone, which is why there is nothing to sign up for and no queue to wait in.

The site is free and is paid for by advertising. If a tool gives you a wrong result or you would like to see a new one, the contact page is the place to say so.

What you will find here

There are 50 free tools in seven groups: image converters, photo tools, PDF tools, text tools, audio tools, device tests and everyday utilities. Every tool page explains how to use the tool, what to expect from the result and where its limits are.

Who makes FreeWrench

FreeWrench is an independent project built and maintained by a solo developer. It is not part of a larger company and has nothing to sell you. Advertising pays for the site, and it is labelled and kept separate from the tools, so it is easy to tell the two apart.

Accuracy and corrections

Tools and guides can contain mistakes, and rules on things like document photos change over time. Please check important results against an official source. If you spot an error, write to us and we will correct it.
