How to use it
- Choose a duration.
- Click the big area as fast as you can.
- Read your CPS when the time runs out.
Good to know
Most people land between 5 and 8 CPS. Past 10 usually takes a technique like jitter or butterfly clicking.
Short tests give higher scores, since it is hard to hold top speed for long.
Common clicking techniques
| Technique | Rough speed | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | 5 to 8 CPS | Clicking with one finger |
| Jitter | 10 to 14 CPS | Tensing the arm to vibrate the finger |
| Butterfly | 15 to 20 CPS | Alternating two fingers on one button |
Getting a meaningful score
- The 5-second test is the usual one to compare with friends.
- 1-second scores are inflated, while 60-second scores mostly measure endurance.
- The final figure is your total divided by the full test length.
- A short pause after the timer ends stops your last click from starting another round.
Look after your hand
Fast clicking techniques strain the fingers and forearm, so stop if you feel pain or numbness, and take regular breaks. Some games and servers restrict double-clicking or unusually high click rates, so check the rules before relying on a technique in competition.
