Split Image Into Grid
Turn one wide photo into a seamless carousel, or fill your profile grid with a single big image.

How to use it
- Choose a preset or set your columns and rows.
- Add your image.
- Download the tiles as a ZIP. Each name shows its row and column.
Good to know
For a carousel, use a picture that is several times wider than it is tall, and a single row. Three 4:5 slides need a picture with a 12:5 shape.
Post grid pieces in reverse order, starting with the bottom-right tile, so that they land in the right places.
Which grid for which job
| Grid | Use | Picture shape needed |
|---|---|---|
| 3 × 1 | Three-slide carousel with 4:5 slides | 12:5 |
| 3 × 1 | Three-slide carousel with square slides | 3:1 |
| 3 × 3 | Nine-post profile mosaic with 4:5 posts | 4:5 |
| 2 × 2 | Four-panel poster or print | Any |
Posting without surprises
Crop the picture to the required shape first, or the tiles will be cropped for you when they are posted. Tile names show row and column, such as r1-c2. For a profile mosaic, upload from the bottom-right tile to the top-left. Instagram has changed how its grid previews are cropped over time, so check how one tile looks before posting all of them.
